Almost 40 per cent of adult Australians has either experienced financial abuse or knows someone who has according to a new survey by the Commonwealth Bank.

Described as a “hidden epidemic” the most common form of financial abuse falls into the category of domestic violence.

The bank has joined up with not-for-profit organisation Good Shepherd to create a Financial Independence Hub to help people impacted by domestic and financial abuse.
